Quatro Ilhas Eco Hostel

There’s everything a traveler needs in this hostel, and then some. You get free filtered drinking water, several hot solar-powered showers indoors and out, toilets on every floor, and two kitchens. One is inside; the other is outside with a barbecue area. There are also two places to hang out, indoors and outdoors, with a Smart TV inside, plus a sort of garden at the back. The dorms are clean, air-conditioned, and have free lockers. Each bed has its own light and power sockets, as well as a main light switch. I even got moved to a less busy room for free to avoid overcrowding. It wasn’t high season, admittedly, and I had the room to myself for all three nights. Great. The owner and staff were super friendly and helpful. Within five minutes of booking, the owner messaged me with directions. There are no buses in Bombinhas, and don’t let the Uber driver rip you off for the TPA tax. The location is amazing, just 20 meters from the beach for swimming or surfing, and right at the start of the main strip in town. A much calmer beach for snorkeling is a 7-8 minute walk away, and it’s suitable for that, even recommended. If you want to wake up with hummingbirds buzzing outside your window, no joke, and hear the waves breaking in the distance, this is the place.
