The sea at the time we visited, at the end of January, had a lot of algae and didn't seem very inviting for swimming, though the water was clean and full of little fish. The algae just made it look unpleasant. Even so, I recommend Pousada Canto Grande and we'd definitely come back. The inn is close to the beach but far from shops and other businesses, so we needed the car for those. We took it to Mariscal and Zimbros for lunch, about 10 minutes away or less. It's handy that they also offer lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks. Our room was comfortable for up to four people. On the balcony there was a small table with two chairs, a hammock, and a clothesline for wet swimwear or pool clothes. The pool was pleasant, clean, and well kept. The sheets and towels were bright white and smelled fresh. Breakfast was generous with lots of variety. It's also good value, just a block from the Canto Grande inner sea.
