Pousada Moinho de Vento

This pousada/chácara is right in Bonito, close to everything, and you can see more wild animals there than on the excursions offered by the city. We've stayed in other places in Bonito, but liked Pousada Moinho de Vento the most. The owners were welcoming and lively, the breakfast was exceptional and full of flavour, and the room was in line with what the nightly rate costs.

It's a lovely place to stay, with a lot of peace and quiet. The grounds are large, with trees, grass, and some very cute wild animals. The pool is a delight, and the water is pleasantly warm. My room was great and smelled nice, and the air conditioning worked very well, which matters in the heat. The shower flow isn't very strong because of the limestone water. I don't count that against the inn, since that's a local condition beyond the owners' control. The owners are lovely, welcoming, and friendly people. Staying at Pousada is well worth it.

Ana Maria and Didier made us feel so welcome. The breakfast was wonderful, especially the scrambled eggs Didier cooks to order. Ana Maria was always ready to answer questions, and the inn is very close to the town center. When I come back to Bonito, I’ll stay at Pousada Moinho do Vento again. A 10 out of 10 for them.

If you’re after nature, peace, and quiet, this place is a great fit. The setting and architecture are lovely, and breakfast is very good. Because of the location, wildlife passes through the inn, including toucans, giant anteaters, tapirs, and other animals. You can ask the owners to show you photos of their tracks and the animals. They don’t attack, and most are used to the owners and people. The owners are kind, friendly, and very helpful. The rooms could use some work, though: the air conditioning is broken or weak, and the TV antennas and reception are poor.
