Pousada Voo Das Garças

A lovely place, and the people were great.

There’s plenty of room at this large inn, with a good tree filled area and fruit growing around the grounds. The rooms are nice, the shared spaces are pleasant, and breakfast is very good and generous. It’s a shame they aren’t pet friendly. I also wish they did more to welcome animals here, including spending a little time and giving food and water to the street animals that pass by out front. Animal welfare is winning hearts around the world, and places that don’t keep up will be left behind. Next time I’ll pay closer attention to finding somewhere that welcomes animals.

It’s a simple inn, but generally clean. The pool is good and the playground is well maintained. Breakfast is limited and ends at 9. Service was reasonable, though the staff were very set in their ways and not flexible. If you need something, be prepared to explain it patiently. The kiosk also needs maintenance, since rain comes through in several places.

We found rooms just two days ahead, and the price was still appealing, so it was good value. Our room was already clean and available when we arrived before check-in, and they let us in early. Reception treated us well. The grounds are attractive and tidy, with a grassy area and fruit trees. There’s a shared space with two grills, sinks, hammocks, and tables. The pool is a good size, with a shallow beach-style area for kids, and there’s a playground too. Parking is right in front of the room. There’s also a tourism agent at reception.
