The inn itself was decent, but the owner’s way of dealing with guests needs work. My husband and I arrived at 8 p.m. and were leaving town at 8 the next morning. When he asked if she could discount the night, she replied, “You’re not going to take me for a ride, are you?” He was so upset he didn’t want to stay. I managed to calm things down, and we were exhausted after being on the road since 5 a.m., so we stayed. That night we opened the minibar, and since we were the only people there, we expected to find water. Instead there was a pizza box that smelled bad, as if it had been there for days, and no water. My husband had to drink from the tap. The next morning he paid the staff member, as the owner wasn’t there, then went to put our bags in the car while I finished collecting my things. The owner arrived and greeted him. When I came out and said goodbye, with reception full of people, she asked the staff member loudly whether we’d paid. Her horrified look was awful. I said we had, and she asked if we weren’t staying. I replied, “No, we don’t want to take you for a ride any more.” The whole thing was embarrassing and unpleasant. I don’t plan to return or recommend it.
