The views are beautiful, and the price is great. It's a pleasant place for a stay with kids or without, and feels especially romantic. Breakfast is delicious, and the staff are very helpful. The beaches, shopping center, and restaurants are nearby, about a 10-minute walk if you don't mind walking. Uber is an option too, around 2 dollars if you'd rather ride. This was my second visit. I was here before in October 2017.

The pool was the best part for me. There was no attendant or time limit, and evening swims were lovely under the cool lights. A few more shade umbrellas would be helpful. Breakfast was delicious, with different options during our stay, and the onsite spa massage is a definite must. The place is dog friendly too. Staff arranged our transfer back to the airport, and the driver was amazing, stopping for food and a toilet break along the way. There’s a lagoon a few minutes away with capybaras. We also saw a gumba in the surrounding coconut trees a few nights, plus a few lizards, little birds, and lots of butterflies. We came across a handful of cockroaches and bugs, which you might expect in an exotic country. We absolutely loved our stay at Pelicano. The staff were amazing all around, and the room was clean, with daily cleaning when needed.

The city center is just a few short blocks away, making this a convenient spot for a relaxing stay in Buzios. Rooms were clean, and the staff friendly, with most of them bilingual in Spanish. The continental breakfast had a nice selection of breads and juices. Highly recommended.
