El Aram Beach Cabo All Inclusive

The room felt restrictive, with no closet for unpacking, no safe, and not even a nightstand for a phone or glasses. I ended up keeping things in my suitcase. The old pillows were dirty, and with the floors sticky and visibly grimy, I avoided going barefoot, even in the shower. The bathroom toilet barely flushed, and they didn’t replenish the toilet paper. There was a window that blocked the view out, but I couldn’t tell who might be able to see in. The hotel is dated, which I could have accepted if it were clean or comfortable. Instead, the curtains had turned brown, the floors in the rooms and halls looked filthy, and they seemed to sweep rather than mop. The chairs had visible mold and smelled, and the table wobbled too much to trust with a laptop or drinks. The fridge was rusty and dirty, the sink tap too short to fill a cup or rinse a toothbrush, and some rooms had leaks from above. Wind whistled through the unsealed terrace door all night. There was no kettle for tea or coffee. The place looked so dirty that I didn’t want to use the pool, either. Breakfast was decent but basic and identical each day. Other lunch and dinner options weren’t impressive, and ordered food could arrive quickly or take as long as two hours. The location felt isolated, with no shops or supermarkets nearby. Staff seemed to be trying their best, but nobody spoke English, so I had to use Google Translate. I’ve visited Brazil several times, including Santos and Rio, and had much better stays there. I’d assumed cleanliness standards would be high, as I’d found in Colombia.
