Beach Hostel & Suites, Cabo Frio

We booked and paid for one night, but left as soon as we saw the room. The photos were misleading: the kitchen looked nothing like the pictures and was run-down, the rooms were dirty, and the outdoor bar looked abandoned. The reception was appalling. The receptionist couldn’t find our booking, barely wrote anything down, and showed us to the room without explaining a thing. There were leaves on the hallway floor on the way there. Inside, the room smelled unpleasant, as though it hadn’t been aired out for days. The bin was overflowing, there was no toilet paper, and the floor was dirty with bits of paper scattered around. The single large towel and small towel on the bed smelled musty. The bed and bedding smelled bad too, and we didn’t want to sleep there at all. Nothing was right. We grabbed our bags and left immediately. It’s completely unacceptable to host people in those conditions.
