Beautiful House in Cabo Frio Ptb0105

The biggest issue on my last stay was the owners having their own group of friends over and putting them up at the inn alongside the other guests. They took over places like the pool, so we felt awkward using it, almost like we were intruding on their get-together. That group stayed up until the early morning with loud music, shouting, and even swearing, with no consideration for guests who wanted to sleep. I’ve never experienced that anywhere else I’ve stayed. I’ve been to Pousada Estalage more than once and used to really like it. The outdoor area is beautiful and the neighborhood is very quiet. By car, Ilha do Japonês and Praia das Conchas are only a few minutes away. Unfortunately, my opinion of the inn has gone downhill. A lot in the rooms needs repairs or replacing, including mattresses, some furniture, and bed and bath linens. There were also cockroaches in my bathroom more than once. Breakfast is basic.

The rabbits are the one attraction that stood out to me. The outdoor area and garden are great for anyone with kids, but the rooms really let things down. A broken toilet seat seems like a basic thing to replace. The cleaning girl kept the room clean, though the rooms themselves aren’t in good shape. Breakfast was very basic, and even the cake, which is a fairly inexpensive food, wasn’t good. The sliced bread had been taken out of its plastic, and some pieces were moldy. The French rolls seemed stale.

The outdoor area is quite nice and pleasant, but the rooms were in really poor shape. The facilities are very old and clearly haven’t had much maintenance.

This was our second stay, and we plan to come back again. The room was very clean and smelled fresh, everyone was really attentive and helpful, and breakfast was very good. I definitely recommend it!
