Camping & Hostel Bandeiras

The beach across from the campground, Praia Rasa, was dirty, and the water was so shallow it only came up to my shins. Búzios's beaches and center are far away, and getting around without a car was very difficult. The bus line that serves the area is limited, even outside the New Year's period. I camped there over New Year's in my own tent, and the facilities couldn't handle the number of guests. There were only three shared sinks and one hot shower for the whole campground, located in the women's bathroom, so long queues formed. When it rained, tents were crowded together under the covered area that should have held tables and a gathering space. Some tents or covered spots on the grass would help, or the campground could provide tents with a good waterproof rating. Having our tents so close together made the stay uncomfortable.

The staff's service was the standout for me, a thousand out of ten. The women made sure everyone was settled in well and happy with their stay. The campground also has great facilities, including a kitchen, fridge, stove, and clean showers. Everything was very clean too. Praia Rasa is lovely and ideal if you want privacy, and its water is the warmest in Búzios. I wholeheartedly recommend the campground and am already counting the days until I return for New Year's!

Verinha and Eriquinha, the couple responsible for Camping & Hostel Arco-Íris, are the most wonderful hosts. I always feel welcomed, cared for, and loved there, like I'm at home with family. The campground is right by the beach, a perfect spot if you want to relax while still having the option to enjoy all the bustle of Búzios. I recommend it so much!
