We compared Lulu Hostel with about half the hostels, inns, and apartments in town. It was easily our favorite, and comparatively inexpensive too. We've stayed in over a dozen hostels and hotels across South America, and this is the one we like best. The owners go out of their way to keep everything clean and everyone happy, and they know the area better than anyone. They can suggest places to eat, boat tours that are less likely to break down, and the best days for snorkeling. They speak great English and some Spanish, so you'll understand their tips. Breakfast is good, and sometimes there's homemade food because they love cooking. The place is brand new and everything is in great condition. There's cable TV with HBO, fast, reliable internet, and an amazing kitchen.

Luciana and Luis (LuLu) were wonderful hosts, and we were very happy with our stay. The hostel was clean and comfortable, in a good location, and breakfast was good. It was a lovely surprise, much better than the listing made it sound, which doesn't happen often.

The only things I liked were the Wi-Fi and the price. The management wasn't nice, there's nowhere to leave your luggage after checkout, and the bathrooms and dorms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages, with ants on the walls. Even at that price, I wouldn't stay here.

The rooms and breakfast were fine, but the advertised bar is just a fridge. They also wanted me to pay to shower after checkout. In five months of traveling, no other hostel had asked me to pay for that.

Great breakfast and clean bathrooms. The hostel itself is great, but I didn't like how the beds are positioned in relation to the AC. Choose your bed carefully, because it can get really cold!
