Marino Beach Hotel

The pool was really cool, and the beach right in front was beautiful, but the stay had a lot of problems for the price. We booked this Cabo Frio hotel at the last minute without researching it properly, and only found out on arrival that construction or repairs were still going on. The front desk staff didn't seem professional or especially helpful, and there was no on-site garage. Traveling internationally with kids, we had to haul all our luggage in ourselves because there were no baggage carts and nobody offered to help. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, especially in rooms at the far end of the first floor. People smoked in public areas, which made me uncomfortable since I'm pregnant and my young kids have respiratory issues. Our room floor kept getting covered with sand even though we hadn't been to the beach. There were no mats or rugs in the public areas, and housekeeping struggled to keep the mess under control. Our room also had no trash bin, the bathroom had no hand towel holder, and there was no full-length mirror in the bedroom. We could hear everything happening in the hallway because sound isolation was poor. For a place charging luxury hotel prices, that was disappointing. I wouldn't recommend staying here over the next couple of years until improvements are made.
