On our second night, the air conditioning broke and stayed at 28°C. The room became so hot that I woke up sick and drenched in sweat, and my friend couldn't sleep either. We opened the balcony door, but hundreds of mosquitoes flew in. My legs are covered in bites, and some were bleeding. We had a boat tour booked that morning, but my friend missed it because he felt unwell after the sleepless night. We complained at reception and were first offered an inferior room. They eventually moved us, but the toilet in the new room was blocked when my friend tried to use it. The cleaners had only just left, which was concerning. If they hadn't reported that it wouldn't flush, it makes me wonder whether the room had been properly cleaned at all. That's a serious health and safety concern. I asked for a refund for one night. Both managers, one Brazilian lady and another Spanish-speaking lady, refused and said we hadn't reported the problem during the night. I explained that we hadn't known we could do that, but they still wouldn't consider compensation. We'll now make a formal complaint to the UK-based company we booked through. I don't usually post reviews, but the management's customer service was shocking and disgusting. Avoid this place if you can. It's dirty, full of mosquitoes, and the team handled our complaint in a very poor and unfair way.

I loved staying here. It has a real holiday feel, right by the beach and lagoon, in the middle of the beautiful old town.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and the price was good. But I would've liked to be treated better for a hotel at this price. The lobby has an open restaurant area with tables, yet when I brought food in at 11 pm, I was told I could only eat in my room, which had no table. At checkout, they said my daughter had stained a towel and charged me R$75 for it. I took the towel and put it in the trash. Parking is limited, so you have to leave your car keys at the front desk because cars block each other in.

The food was affordable, apart from the groceries for the rooms, and the parking was good. Cleaning services seemed well managed, and the room service was excellently prepared. The pools were clean and great, and the beds and furniture were good too. One of the best hotels in all of Cabo Frio, with amazing service.
