Porto Forte Pousada

The place smelled of sewage, and the breakfast was awful. The food seemed to be leftovers from the previous day every time. We paid a fortune for a terrible stay. The room was tiny for four people, smelled strongly of mold, and had an old air conditioner that didn’t cool it. The bathroom window looked into the room, while the bedroom window faced another room’s window across a huge wall. The air conditioner brackets there made our room even hotter. The TV was in the way, and I hit my head on it. There was only one outlet, so I had to charge my phone underneath the TV. It felt like an old, abandoned room. I asked to move, but was told every room was occupied. They only changed our room on the last night. The reception was often unattended, especially at night. Twice I arrived and found nobody there, so there was no security at all.

The rate is fair, and breakfast is good. The location sits between Praia do Forte and the canal, with parking available, and you can get around on foot. I recommend it.

Terrible. I won’t come back. The TV barely works, and the bathroom is tiny. Breakfast is decent only on Saturday and Sunday; if you extend your stay into the week, you just get leftovers. When Yuri is at reception, he’s unbelievably unfriendly.

We stayed in room 10 on the second floor. It’s cozy and well located near the center and Praia do Forte, and I’ll return when I can. The man who helped us on Saturday, 30/08/2025, was wonderful: very kind, attentive, polite, and pleasant. I can’t remember his name to give him credit. The room could use improvements to the curtain, minibar, and wardrobe doors. The bathroom needs a hygienic shower and better bath towels. Breakfast was simple but pleasant. There weren’t enough fruits, and I found a few dirty cups, so they just need to pay closer attention. The cakes were good, and both the French rolls and sausage sauce were delicious. I’m mentioning these points because they could be improved.
