I live in Morro de São Paulo and spent a weekend there with my family for my daughter’s birthday. We booked casa encanto and casa dendê, and both were lovely. The houses were spotless, the beds soft and comfortable, and the pool was very clean. There was a lovely scent throughout the house, and they’d left the TV on with ambient sound. The staff were very helpful, especially manager Gabriela, who was professional and quick to handle every request. I felt bad sending her messages so often! Staying at the residential property also gives you access to the hotel restaurant, where the food was excellent, and to the gym, which is quite ecological. Bring insect repellent, since mosquitoes come out at night in the green surroundings. Each bedroom has a mosquito net, so they didn’t bother us while sleeping. Vila dos orixás is a good fit if you’re looking for peace and quiet. It’s far from the center, but the accommodation runs transport into town and back at set times, which worked well for us. I didn’t mention online that I live on the island, and I didn’t know the staff, so I was treated just like any other guest. I work in tourism and have excellent Google and TripAdvisor ratings for boat tours on the island. I care about giving tourists excellent service, and this was a very good stay. If it had been bad, I wouldn’t recommend it. My boats offer tours under @estreladocaribemsp.

The house was clean, in good shape, smelled nice, and had the necessary utensils when we arrived. The iron was missing, but they sent one later. We rented casa Encanto for a lovely few days in Morro de São Paulo in January 2023. It’s only a short walk from the beach, and guests can use the beautiful beach bar at hotel villa dos orixás, which I liked more than any of the beach stalls in Morro. The main drawback is how far the condo is from the first and second beaches, where the village, supermarket, pharmacy, and bank are. Although it shares the hotel’s name and logo, people staying in the houses can’t use the shuttle that takes hotel guests to and from the second beach throughout the day. That makes getting around more expensive. Prices in Morro de São Paulo are already known to be high, and a round trip by taxi to the first beach costs 180 reais. There’s also a mandatory cleaning fee of 100 reais a day, but the staff only clean the bedrooms and bathrooms, not the kitchen or living room. During our six days there, the pool wasn’t cleaned either. Even so, I had a good stay and would rent the house again.
