The decor was lovely, and we have such nice memories of our stay. It was hard to leave for Montevideo, but we're grateful for the wonderful time we had. The rooms were beautiful and impeccably clean, and every member of staff, from reception and maintenance to housekeeping and the kitchen, helped make things special. Each day the kitchen team made sure the varied breakfast had everything we needed, always with great friendliness. Marcos and his colleagues did excellent work and guided us there; Marcos met us at the Morro de Sao Paulo pier, and Manuel welcomed us at reception. Everyone was kind, friendly and cordial, and helped us with words we didn't understand. We stayed January 11th to 15th and enjoyed every day. The breakfast was wonderful, with plenty of choice and good quality, and the staff were polite, friendly, and welcoming. The reception felt warm too, and the pousada is cozy and well placed for walking to Primeira and Segunda Praia or the centre of Morro de São Paulo, with its shops and restaurants. I missed having an optional paid evening service, like dinner or snacks, which some other inns and hotels offer. My room also wasn't cleaned during my stay, even after I asked. Just taking out the rubbish and giving the sandy floor a quick sweep would have made a difference. We also felt the bedding could have received more attention, as the sheets had a slight odor while we were there.

The room got completely wet when it rained, even though all the doors were shut. The furniture was old and stuck together, the TV didn't work, and the bed and bath linens were worn out. I was disappointed with the rooms because they looked nothing like what was shown on Instagram. What I saw on the site was nowhere near the reality.
