Villa Giulia Morro

We stayed four nights and had a great view from the infinity pool. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. We switched rooms a few times to get this view. It's quite a hike from town, but worth it.

The pool has an incredible view, and the accommodation itself is good. But it’s very far from the center and beaches 1, 2, 3, and 4. The service team could be more responsive. Sometimes they take over 18 hours to answer a message, especially the people handling the cart. Janaína is the exception. When we arrived, the minibar had four 500 ml waters, four cans of Pepsi, and three cans of beer. We assumed they were complimentary since there was no notice saying they cost extra, and nobody told us otherwise. We ended up paying R$ 10 for each beer, R$ 6 for each Pepsi, and R$ 5 for each water. That left us a bit frustrated. I’m not sure I’d stay there again.

There was nobody to check us in, and no one answered calls, emails, or WhatsApp messages. We were left completely on our own. The entrance is very hidden, with no sign to point it out, so you have to ask around to find it.

We weren’t told beforehand how much walking it would take or how far Villa Giulia was from beaches 1, 2, 3, and 4. We spent days climbing stairs to get to the inn, and the power kept going out. It went out for two days, and we decided not to stay the final three days because Villa Giulia didn’t have the facilities we needed. Lucas, the inn’s manager, said he’d refund 600,00 within 30 days, but I’m still waiting for the money. Please pay me, Lucas. I wouldn’t advise older people or children to stay at Villa Giulia. It’s so far from everything that they may not be able to get around, especially anyone with heart problems. The experience wasn’t very good. Chico and Janaína welcomed us and were both wonderful, kind people who were always ready to help. Another time, I waited for Marcelo, one of the staff who takes tourists to the center by golf cart, to pick me up at fonte grande. I started walking to see if I could meet him on the way, but couldn’t find him and got lost. When I called, he wanted to charge me 50,00 for having “gone out looking for me.” That felt awful. They don’t keep their word. Be careful when renting there. The power goes out constantly.
