I've known this place before, but my last stay was awful. The water from the tap was pure mud, and the front desk staff said that's normal. Pool water smelled bad, and some pools clearly had too much chlorine. The administration showed little concern for safety. Last Saturday, the power was out for several hours, and a group of friends in my block started making a racket, shouting and playing extremely loud music. When asked to turn it down, they said to call the police. There were newborns, elderly people, and children in the block. I went to reception, but they said the two security guards couldn't handle it and that I had to call the police myself. I did, but the police didn't resolve it, saying it was Aldeia's problem and they were responsible for what happened inside. Yet if you stand by the pool with a bottle of water, more than three employees show up saying it's forbidden and you'll be fined. Making enough noise to nearly bring down the block at 11 p.m. on a Saturday was apparently fine, even though the entry contract prohibits it. The team is completely unprepared to help tourists and only seems to care about making money.

The place seems to have been built with a nice idea and must once have had a great setup, but now it's neglected and missing basic safety for children and older people. The pool deck is very slippery, the path to the pools has loose flooring and nothing to hold onto, and there's litter around. There are signs listing rules, but nobody monitors them. According to the safety support staff, he decides what is and isn't allowed. A light near the children's playground is broken with an exposed wire, and the area by the lake has no safety measures. Everywhere, signs say parents are responsible and the hotel isn't liable. The bar and pool staff were rude. The bar and restaurant are expensive, and sometimes nobody comes to serve you. Of the hotels by the lake where I've stayed in Caldas, this was unfortunately the worst.

It's a large, pretty place right by the lake, but it's badly maintained. Power goes out, and they charge for everything, including a wristband and cleaning, but the cleaning service wasn't done. The pools were dirty, there was an unbearable sewage smell throughout the condo, and the apartment lights didn't work. I don't recommend it and won't return.

We rented apartments for two families on 01/01/2026, expecting to be near each other. Instead, we were about 200 meters apart, one family in the first pavilion and the other in the last. Every pool was filthy and smelled horrible, like urine, and one stayed closed all day. The grass smelled of sewage, every chair was broken, and the barbecue grill we rented was caked in dirt. The water in the house came out black and filthy, not even fit for brushing our teeth, let alone bathing. I spent three days sneezing because the apartment was full of mold. The dishes were filthy, and the ice trays were black with mold. This was the worst place I've ever been and a horrible way to start 2026. I don't recommend it. Don't go or spend your money here.

I arrived today, 28/07/2025. The only good part so far is our apartment, block C 304, which is well kept and has basic utensils. The place really is beautiful, as in the photos, but the pools are a long walk from the apartments, and the trail is a bit dark at night. Close to the pools, there's a strong, unpleasant sewage smell. Most people come to Caldas Novas for the famous hot springs, but Aldeia do Lago doesn't offer that. Most pools are cold, including the children's pools and the infinity pool. A few are lukewarm, but I haven't seen a truly warm one yet. They were also dirty and smelled a bit like pee. This is my last time here. I've stayed at Pontal do Lago three times and it's wonderful, though it doesn't have a pool with a children's playground. I regret not going there again. It isn't worth it.
