Chácara Aromas da Serra

The air feels so fresh here, and the quiet is a welcome change from a big city. My boyfriend and I came to rest and be close to nature, and it was just right. We were also made to feel incredibly welcome by Sr Renato, who was a wonderful person. The room was comfortable and very clean, and breakfast was excellent. We're grateful we came. It was well worth it. God bless!

We left with so much knowledge from the long, enjoyable conversations with our host, Sr. Renato. A few times we talked past midnight, and those chats were even better than our visit to the city. He runs Chácara with real care, dedication, and passion. The breakfast was excellent, the beds were comfortable, and the pillows were very good. The room blocked out so much light that we nearly missed breakfast. Being far from the noise downtown also made it a fantastic place to rest. One of the most incredible trips my wife and I have had. It's a lovely place to get away from the city, and there's an interesting trail on the property, though I found it a little dangerous. The rooms are simple and have no heating, which made the cold Campos do Jordáo weather tough. I was disappointed by the observatory mentioned on the website. You can only use it if the owner is there to set up the telescope, so I couldn't try the advertised feature.

I left after just 45 minutes. The room was tiny, the bed was awful, and the blankets were horrible. There was no TV or heater, no restaurant, and the place is far from everything. Nothing makes the price feel justified. A mountain retreat shouldn't mean giving up comfort.
