Hotel Euro Suite Campos do Jordao

Awesome.

The hotel is in a great spot. I managed to walk to some attractions, breakfast was very good, and the staff were excellent. My room, number 800, faced the main road and the hotel parking area, so there was constant, intense noise. There were too few outlets to charge my devices, and the shower took a while to heat up. There weren't enough towels either, so I would have had to ask reception for more. I wouldn't recommend it or stay again. For the price, there are more comfortable places nearby.

The bed was comfortable, and at least there was Wi-Fi, although it was very slow. But the upgrade room we paid extra for didn't feel special, so I felt like I spent more for nothing. The pillow was thin and hard, with no alternative in the room. Soundproofing was poor too. We could hear people walking around because the wooden floor was noisy, as well as people talking. The bathroom had a problem with the toilet tank float, and I had to keep opening it and fixing it just to get some peace. At check-in, they still had us fill out a form by hand. They could modernize that or have it ready for guests to sign. I hadn't seen that in a long time.

The staff were a real bright spot. Everyone was polite, kind, and helpful, especially Luara, who handled our check-in warmly, explained everything patiently, and made us feel at ease. The location was very good too, just over 1 km from Vila Capivari, close enough to drive or walk if you're up for it. This is a three-star hotel in an older building, which shows in some of the architectural details, but it didn't detract from the stay. The place is well looked after, and the simple common areas and rooms were clean, tidy, and seemed to get regular maintenance. The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water after a day walking around, and the bed was comfortable. The covered, heated pool was great for relaxing at the end of the day, and guests can also use bicycles to explore the city. There was no air conditioning in our suite, which could be an issue depending on the time of year. There are no elevators, either, which makes access difficult for older guests, people with reduced mobility, or anyone with lots of bags. Breakfast was fine, just okay, and could use more variety and hot options. I had a positive stay and would come back, mainly for the value, location, and service.
