Ort Hotel

Breakfast was fine, nothing special, but it did the job. Ort Hotel is surrounded by lush trees, so the setting feels calm and picturesque, and it’s about a five-minute drive from downtown. My room was cozy and beautifully decorated, and there were some fun activities to keep me entertained. I had an amazing stay and think it’s a great choice for a weekend in Campos do Jordao.

The swimming pool wasn’t for me, and the sauna wasn’t working. Still, the staff were great to me and my girlfriend, and we had a good experience overall. The hotel is peaceful and a nice place to relax. Its location is great for getting to the tourist sights around Campos do Jordão. The accommodation has a rustic style and everything was very clean.

There’s no public transport, and the place is quite remote, which makes it suitable for serious meetings, conferences, or seminars. The meeting room can fit around 200 people, though the sound system needs improvement. Rooms are large enough for three people. Facilities include a swimming pool, an outdoor football field, and indoor games. The restaurant is fine, but don’t expect high-quality food. It’s enough to give you an idea of the taste of some Brazilian dishes.

Getting here takes some effort. There are lots of turns after leaving Campos de Jordão, though Waze gets you there. The power outlets use the Brazilian standard, and the only converters they have fit plugs of the same size. I didn’t see any animals and didn’t ask about them, so I don’t know if they’re accepted. The grounds have lots of trees, walking trails, and several benches. Inside, there’s a restaurant with buffet meals included, a bar beside it, an indoor pool and sauna, plus tennis, soccer, and volleyball courts. You’ll also find at least two TV lounges, a piano and fireplace, a room with card tables for four players, and a small gift shop with necessities, warm clothes, and gifts. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. Mine had a king-size bed. The first-floor rooms, which Brazilians don’t count as the ground floor, have a large private outdoor area, around 15 by 20 feet, plenty of clothes storage, and a good-size bathroom. There are also adjoining family rooms with two bedrooms and one bathroom, and exterior cottages with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, though I didn’t see inside either type. The hotel is child-friendly.
