The people are fun...

We'd looked at a few negative reviews mentioning mold and were a little worried, but there weren't many, so we went anyway. We stayed in the new family master room, which was clean and great. The mattresses, pillows, bedding, and towels were all excellent. The bathroom has a few tiny flaws, like the paint and small sink, but nothing much to complain about. We had first checked out the family standard room, and it was just as clean and fresh-smelling, but I asked to upgrade because its shower stall was open. Service was excellent the whole time, and the location was fantastic, about 10 minutes from the village. Hotels there cost at least twice as much. There's also a large parking lot, which is uncommon there and really handy.

The location was good, and reception treated us well. Breakfast was excellent, and the cooks were lovely. Our room got quite hot in December, though, and there was no air conditioning or even a fan. The minibar was empty. I also missed having a pool. After a day of sightseeing we were tired and wanted to stay at the hotel, but all we could do was go to sleep.

The breakfast was basic, with only a few things, mostly bread and cake. Our room was damp and uncomfortable, the mattresses were old, and the bedding was very worn. During the three days we stayed, the blankets weren't changed. The bathroom had no hygiene shower, and the cleaning was poor. The pousada fell well short of what we'd expected, and it doesn't live up to what it charges or what it shows on social media.
