Pousada Naus Cananeia

Cananéia is a beautiful city, and people are so polite. Everyone says good morning and is patient and courteous. Don’t litter or treat anyone disrespectfully, respect the locals, and take it slow. There isn’t a beach in town, but you can cross the channel by ferry or boat to reach nearby beaches. The ferry is 12 to 18, and boat trips to nearby islands cost 60 per person. The city has ice cream shops, markets, stores, a pizzeria, and lots of good restaurants. The inn itself is well cared for, with new facilities, good bathrooms and breakfast, and plenty of parking. It’s about 400 m from the central square and the trapiche. There’s a bar out front with cold beer, and about 200 m away there’s a fishing industry bar with cold beer and incomparable fresh fish. The portion is huge for two and costs 80; a big beer is 15.

We really enjoyed our trip, including the outing to Pereirinha beach, which was great for kids, and to Ilha Comprida. We took the bus to Cananéia and still had no trouble getting around. The inn welcomed us warmly, served a generous breakfast, and is well placed near restaurants, the historic center, the ferry, and the boats.

A peaceful place to stay with the family, and breakfast has a good variety. Really good, I highly recommend it.

It’s a really peaceful inn and everything was clean. The owner and staff were wonderful. Waking up to birdsong and being surrounded by nature was magnificent. I’ve already recommended the place to all my friends.
