I was visiting Canela, RS, and having lunch at this restaurant was a letdown. The city has charmed me, but this place left me disappointed. The rice was sour, the lentils were spoiled, and the feijoada was old. I’ve just eaten it and am really worried I might get sick and ruin my trip. They serve spoiled food and show no responsibility toward customers.

What a horrible experience. The food had flies, and charging people to use the bathroom was excessive. It felt disrespectful, especially toward elderly people, and nothing like the food service elsewhere in the city. I saw local residents serving themselves even after I told them there were flies. There’s no sanitary inspection, as far as I can tell. The employee went to get a police officer because of my elderly mother over a five-real bathroom charge. Report them!

The food tasted very good, like home cooking, and the service was really good for me. It’s a simple but spacious place, just behind Canela Cathedral. The setup is interesting: you pay one fixed price, help yourself to as much of the side dishes as you want, and the meat is brought to your table. There weren’t many choices when I went because they were close to closing, but at R$49.90, that’s an excellent price for a tourist town like Canela. It was worth choosing this place. I don’t live nearby, or I’d like to eat here more often.

The buffet is all you can eat, and they bring unlimited meat to the table too. Each steak was like a flip-flop sole, so maybe they backed the Havaianas cause. The bathroom floor was completely flooded, and it wasn’t water. In short, the price they charge isn’t worth it.

The food is tasty and well made, and the women who work there always give impeccable service. It’s wonderful whether you eat in or take it away. And their sagu is the best I’ve ever had, I love it!
