Hotel Santa Rita

We went to Capão for work and with family, and really enjoyed this place. It’s a quiet, family friendly beach, though about 25 minutes away. The hotel is simple, but they work hard to keep everything clean and in good condition, and it delivers what it promises. Breakfast and air conditioning are included, and it’s practically right by the sea. The rate is very fair for what you get. We’ve already been back and will likely return again. Great value, highly recommend.

We only stayed because we arrived late and had nowhere else to go. The breakfast was okay, though it would be better with fresh juice instead of packet juice, and for the price it wasn’t worth it. The room was dusty enough that we couldn’t walk barefoot, and there were silverfish and cockroach droppings in the bathroom. The shower control was wrapped in electrical tape, and the hallway to the rooms smelled strongly of sewage. I don’t know if the man there was the owner, but he didn’t even say good evening. When we had to speak with him, he wouldn’t even look at us.

The place was filthy, the service was terrible, and the facilities felt extremely run down and unsafe. There were leaks and exposed wiring. Reception or the front desk was only staffed until midnight, in a hotel? The place online and on its website looked nothing like the reality, very misleading advertising. I didn’t even risk having the breakfast. A dreadful stay, never again.

The room I’d booked had apparently been assigned to another guest too, so they put me in a different one. The bedding smelled moldy, and the minibar was right beside the bed. I couldn’t use it even though I needed to, because the motor was so noisy that sleeping with it on was impossible. I stayed only because I had no other option. Never again.
