Elianna is a marvelous hostess, with helpful local recommendations and a lot of care for an international guest like me. I don’t speak any Portuguese 😂. My fiancé and I had a fabulous stay at Pousada A Toca do Bem-Te-Vi. The friendly staff were always helpful, breakfast each morning was light but satisfying, and the dinner menu was great on the evenings we chose to eat in. The pool sparkles, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the WiFi is accessible, and the garden is beautiful. There were even a couple of adorable cats for company. I have no complaints and will absolutely return whenever I’m back in Brazil. 10 stars!

The garden is beautiful and matches the photos, and D. Francisca took great care of us. Sadly, the rest of the stay didn’t go so well. We were the only guests that weekend, though from our conversation I’d understood the pousada was busy. I’d asked, and she said only two rooms were available. If I’d known we’d be alone there, I wouldn’t have gone. Breakfast was very poor, the AC didn’t cool, there were no TVs in the rooms, and the restaurant wasn’t open. At 9:30 pm they turned off all the lights, and some cats would lunge at us, making it hard to stay in the garden.

We contacted the pousada on July 4 to cancel a booking with check-in on October 24, 2025, more than 90 days ahead. No cancellation policy had been shown to us when we booked, but when we asked to cancel, the owner said there would be no refund. If it had been a last-minute cancellation, I could understand, but with over 90 days’ notice there was plenty of time to rent the rooms to someone else. They ignore our messages, and when we call, they hang up. Customers deserve more respect.
