Chalé Massaguaçu

The photos are completely misleading. The house is in terrible shape, with old outlets, many of them not working, and almost no furniture. Everything is made of concrete blocks, even what are supposed to be beds, with a filthy, old mattress on top. It has no real security either: the doors don't close all the way and the gate stays open late into the night. There were bugs and other creatures everywhere, including cockroaches, mosquitoes, slugs, and caterpillars. It seemed impossible that the place had ever been treated for pests. The pool was filthy, and it hadn't been cleaned overnight as we were told it would be. The kitchen utensils were old and smelled foul, and using them took a strong stomach. The heat was unbearable. There was one small table fan that did nothing, and a ceiling fan that barely worked. The bathroom and sink taps had been adjusted so only a tiny amount of water came out. The toilet was nearly impossible to use normally, and we realized the low flow was due to that adjustment, despite the story that the city was out of water. The owner was rude and ignorant when we tried to discuss what was happening. She said it wasn't her problem, wouldn't fix anything, and wouldn't refund us. We had booked four days but stayed only one night, awake the whole time because it was impossible to rest. We're very disappointed and are taking the appropriate steps. I wouldn't recommend this place even to my worst enemy. A horrible place, horrible experience and poor quality.

We went with family in the low season, and the chalet was in a deplorable state. The mattresses were awful, the TVs were poor, the Wi-Fi didn't work, and the fan was broken and only ran at one speed. The stove leaked gas, so we had to keep shutting the gas off. There were leaks in the bathrooms too, and very few outlets, with poor connections in the ones that did work. Other guests were very noisy, and the host did nothing about it. Horrible.

Wonderful chalet! I and my family have stayed here twice already. Iara was so polite and lovely with us. You'll enjoy it ♥️🙌🏽

Great place, with a family-friendly atmosphere and incredible cleanliness. I'd absolutely recommend it, and we'll definitely be back. 💞
