We had a wonderful stay in a peaceful, pleasant place, with a beautiful view straight out to the sea. The host was so attentive. I’d definitely recommend it and hope to come back again.

The bathroom window faced the stairs to the house at the back, so you could see into the shower. The air conditioner was outside the bedroom on the stairs and barely cooled anything. There were other houses in the yard, and the owner lived there too, so we had no privacy. I felt misled by the owner: before booking, I asked whether the house, pool, and barbecue area were all private, and he told me they were. Nothing was private; everything was shared. A horrible experience.

There’s a small shared pool with a whirlpool, and Sr. Sven welcomed us when we arrived. He was polite, attentive, and helpful, explaining how everything worked and suggesting nearby places to eat and visit. From here you can reach Praia Brava by trail, or drive about 5 minutes to Praia Martim de Sá, which is around a 15-minute walk away. Our room was the one at the very top. It’s quiet and surrounded by nature, with a lovely view of Praia Martim de Sá, plus the sound of waves and birds. There’s a little private patio with a barbecue and table for meals. The room is simple but cozy, with a ceiling fan, Wi-Fi, a TV with Prime Video and Netflix, and a relaxing shower. It sleeps four, though a couple would be more comfortable. The small kitchen has a stove and all the basics, plates, cutlery, glasses and so on. We just wished there were a microwave. Be aware that getting to this room means climbing several fairly steep flights of stairs, passing through one of the rooms. It was tiring at first, but we got used to it. Pack light and bring backpacks or small bags. This room isn’t suitable for small children and doesn’t accept pets. If you want a different kind of stay somewhere peaceful with a beautiful sea view, and don’t mind the stairs, I highly recommend BellaVista.

The view is wonderful day and night, and the place itself is lovely and clean. Getting to my chalet meant climbing 70 steps, with a long stretch to walk between flights. The stairs are narrow and very steep, and carrying luggage makes it even harder. They made it difficult for me to enjoy my stay, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who doesn’t like lots of stairs. If stairs aren’t a problem for you, though, the effort is well worth it for that view.
