Pousada Edson

The place feels like a detention cell. It's filthy and stinks, with cockroaches everywhere and everything falling apart. It would take several rounds of bleach to make it sanitary; it's basically unfit to stay in. Cockroaches would need boots to avoid catching something, and even people who have swum through São Paulo's leptospirosis-ridden floodwaters wouldn't dare get in the pool. The only visit this place deserves is from the health inspectors, not you.

I'm leaving my account here. On the 3rd, my husband and I arrived at the inn after being in Ubatuba, and decided to extend our trip a little. We found the place while searching and rented directly from the owner, which was fine. The conditions were poor, though. Being simple is fine, but there was a serious lack of hygiene. We decided to add one more night. The owner, Edson de Paula Marsura, raised the total by 50 reais to 300 reais. When I went to pay by card, he told me he only accepted cash or Pix, even though there were two card machines on the reception desk. I felt he was taking advantage of us. We're peaceful, honest people and didn't want to cause trouble during our stay. A place people are just passing through isn't their home. I'll report the establishment to the health department. My husband is a lawyer. We prayed in our room for the families and souls there to be saved, excluding Mr. Edson de Paula Marsura. God teaches us to be honest, not crooked. The dirt wasn't as bad as the owner's dishonesty. I'm already in touch with my company's legal team so another family doesn't have to deal with this lack of character toward customers. A simple place is fine, but a lack of character and empathy toward others is repulsive. DON'T GO THERE if you don't want to be cheated by people who already have nothing. We rented a room at the end of the year, and the price was outrageous. As soon as we arrived, the inn's yard smelled strongly of animal urine and feces. The room smelled musty, the sheets and towels were yellowed, and the furniture was very old. The blankets didn't smell clean. I think they wash them, but don't use fabric softener. The owner barely spoke to guests. There was no real security: sometimes we'd get back late and the reception was empty, so anyone could walk in. When we needed toilet paper or something else, we sometimes couldn't find any staff. The price wasn't worth it. The place needs a major renovation and improvement across the board.

The neighborhood made me feel at home, and Naty gave us an incredible welcome. Edson is a really nice guy too. The place is close to some of the best beaches in Caraguatatuba, and my stay was wonderful. I'm just grateful for such a welcoming place.
