The lounge was a favorite spot, with hammocks overlooking the river and billiards, table tennis, and table football. You can even swim near curious river dolphins that come close when you get in the water. Our days also included excellent tours with great guides. I had Carlos and would happily recommend him. The food was outstanding, with buffet dishes changing daily, and the staff were kind and attentive. The wooden cabins are simple, but lovely and clearly built with care. This feels like a real rainforest stay. If you want a super-luxurious resort full of modern extras, this probably isn't it, and that's part of what makes Amazon Tupana Lodge so special.

The rainforest and waterways were a great introduction to the Amazon, with experiences that felt just right for a first visit. The food was excellent at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there were good options for the vegetarians in my group. Everyone on the staff was wonderful, especially our guide.

We had some incredible experiences here that we'll remember for a long time. The staff were excellent, and our guide's English was flawless; he knew so much about the area. His assistant, who was also our boatman, was brilliant and had the most infectious smile. The lodge sits right on the Tupana River, which is a beautiful setting. Our only real issue was the basic room. It was dark, dull, and unpleasant, and it leaked during a rainstorm. The staff quickly moved us to a much better waterside cabana, though. The accommodation itself could use work, but we couldn't fault the rest of our stay. Thank you.

Even though we couldn't understand Portuguese, everyone at Tupana Lodge made us feel welcome. Carlos was a kind guide, explained a lot about the area, and listened to our individual requests. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the place.

The guides and staff were professional and helpful, and the short outing gave us a glimpse of local Amazon life. Getting there is a journey: from MANAUS, the capital, it's 178 km, with a van, a boat, then another van over rough roads. Power is limited during the day, and there's no hot water, hair dryer, or other amenities.
