We felt at home from the moment we arrived at the pousada, and I’m already counting the days until I can come back. I stayed from 23/12 to 01/01/22, and André was polite and helpful from our very first contact. He sent photos and videos that only made me more eager to visit Carrancas-MG. The location is great, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and set up for anyone who wants to cook. There’s plenty of parking, plus a lovely, well-kept garden. André grows succulents and loves talking about them. I also want to recommend Cigano, the guide who stays around the pousada. He’s a fun, cheerful guy from Rio, and hiking with him is a good time, with some of the best views of Carrancas. Definitely the best place to stay.

The breakfast was sensational, honestly. There was so much variety and everything tasted great. The pousada also has a pool table and a TV package with lots of channels, so there’s plenty to enjoy on site. I wish I could have stayed longer. Everything was comfortable, clean, organized, and really pretty, and the staff were so friendly. The service was excellent. The bathroom had a shower enclosure, a large mirror, and adjustable hot and cold water. There’s also an equipped kitchen. Highly recommend!

We were 13 people, and André welcomed us at 5 in the morning and got everyone settled in so smoothly. I’d felt a little nervous booking somewhere with an accessible price because I didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to be a lovely surprise. The rooms were clean and organized, with a kitchen where you can make a snack or even a simple dinner. Breakfast was always well prepared, and the helpers were friendly and ready to help. If you need something extra, André tries to find it for you, though you can stock the minibar yourself however you like. Thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome. I recommend the place and will be back!

The pousada is in a really convenient spot, close to bars, restaurants, a bakery, and a supermarket. The rooms are very clean, and it’s peaceful and quiet. Breakfast is great too, and André is an excellent host. And then there are all those amazing waterfalls in Carrancas. I stumbled on this place without even searching and got really lucky. I’ll stay here again when I come back, and I’m happy to recommend it.

The hot-water Jacuzzi with chromotherapy was such a treat after a day visiting waterfalls. It’s a lovely extra. We booked four flats for 13 people over the Easter holiday, and Sr. André greeted us right when we arrived, at 5:00 in the morning. Everything was impeccable through the end of the holiday: breakfast, cleaning, and the staff’s kindness. Sr. André lives there and keeps a close eye on things. The flats were well equipped, with a stove, microwave, bathroom, double bed, two single beds, TV, ceiling fan, and minibar. Everything worked. Highly recommend!
