Casa Jangada

A really nice place.

We found the inn too dark at first, especially around the pool after sunset. For about five days, it was completely dark outside at night. The owner turned on more lights once other guests arrived, which bothered us a bit. Our room was simple but cozy and airy, a triple room with a balcony, and the inn was clean and cute. The balcony wasn't private, though. It was shared with the other rooms that had balconies, something the photos don't show. There was no hot shower in our room, so we had to take cold showers until the owner let us use the room next door. Once new guests arrived, we had to go back to cold showers. Breakfast was very basic. It was fine for the first few days, but after 10 days of ham and cheese on bread, we were tired of it. On our first day, the owner said the barbecue was just for decoration. When we asked later if we could use it, she said no because guests were coming, and if one person used it, everyone would want to. But when about 10 people arrived, she let them have a barbecue on a day when we were out on an excursion all day. If that's the rule for one guest, it should apply to everyone. After that, the owner seemed embarrassed and avoided us for the rest of our stay. That was our experience. I don't recommend it.

The place was so peaceful and welcoming, and we had a wonderful stay with a delicious breakfast. My husband and I especially liked the fresh coffee and pão de queijo. Doroteia, the owner, was very attentive and helpful. We'll definitely come back. Thank you for the warm welcome, Doroteia.

The place is nicely decorated and great for photos, with plenty of fresh air and, best of all, no noise. It's pleasant, close to the beach, at most a minute away, and has breakfast. The people there are very welcoming and hospitable.
