Pousada Toca da Raposa

We were supposed to leave for the pousada tomorrow, but the booking had become a mess. My wife had paid a deposit, and during the last week we tried reaching them through the number listed here, the same one we used to book. No one answered our calls or messages. Today, someone finally replied to say they no longer work there, promised to return the money, and told us we’d have to book directly at the pousada tomorrow. The refund only came through a few minutes ago, after all that confusing communication and no one picking up the phone. Pay attention, I wouldn’t book here.

The breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty to eat before heading out on the trails. Paula made scrambled eggs to order, and there were fruit, bread, milk, yogurt, coffee, a lovely chicken quiche, juice, granola and oats. Thanks to Seu Ribamar, Paula and Iago! The rooms are simple but comfortable, with clean sheets and blankets available. The bathroom was good too, and the shower had a nice strong flow. There’s a balcony with a hammock, plus lots of green space.

The room smelled of cigarettes, the minibar was switched off, and the TV didn’t work. They said breakfast was included, but there wasn’t any. The hot tub is only for guests in the room opposite it.
