The WhatsApp messages I sent to sort out our room were never answered, and communication had been poor from the start. When we asked for a mattress, an employee even suggested he come along with us to get it, as if that were the guest's job. That lack of consideration added to an already frustrating stay. I was there with my husband and baby. We had clearly repeated this during the booking process, and the situation had been accepted and paid for. Still, when we arrived, there was no suitable accommodation for the three of us. No one has to accept a baby, of course, but if that has been disclosed, accepted, and paid for in advance, I expect the place to be ready and the hosts to act responsibly and professionally. The hosts weren't welcoming and seemed unwilling to fix a problem they had caused. It was an avoidable discomfort. We had planned to be there as a family, and if they'd honored their commitment with basic common sense and respect for consumer rights, this wouldn't have happened. An old, much-loved employee of the inn was the reason we could stay a few extra hours. She was warm and willing to help, and managed to ease part of the situation as best she could. I don't know what difficulties they were dealing with internally, but the way things were handled felt careless and didn't fit a paid lodging service, especially one hosting a family. We weren't asking for a favor. I hope they get better soon and learn to provide decent service. A very disappointing experience, far below what I expected.
