We've stayed here five or six times now. When we visit Curitiba, this is our usual place. My fiancée is from Curitiba, and we live in New York now, so when we're here on vacation, not having to worry about finding a hotel that meets our needs means a lot. It's become our home away from home. The prices are affordable, the staff are always friendly, and the rooms are modern and clean. The shower pressure is AMAZING. It's in a very safe part of Curitiba, right across from a pharmacy, and just a short Uber ride from several parks and malls. I wish there were a hot tub and/or pool. The spa/sauna always seems to be closed, and having a spa without a pool to use afterwards feels kind of pointless. Even with those small gripes, I really enjoy staying here and make a point of coming back every time we're in Curitiba. I'm a somewhat anxious traveler, and this is one thing I don't have to worry about. I can count on a good experience, which is more than I can say for many hotels, even the super fancy ones that cost 10x more.

Check-in was a horrible experience. They use a third-party management company, but halfway through the process they stopped replying and ghosted us. I had to contact Booking to get them to respond. We waited for hours, and they still wouldn't let us check in before 3pm, even though I'd seen several people check in early over the previous four hours. I was completely confused by their system and rules. Worst experience in Brazil. Horrible customer service.

Praça do Japão is very close, and the hotel is in a good location. The rooms are well equipped and built to a good standard, but upkeep needs attention. During my week there, nobody provided room service. In my room, the ventilation didn’t work, condensation built up, and there was mold in the bathroom. One air-conditioning unit seemed to have a faulty temperature control. The safe was attached to a wardrobe shelf with two tiny screws, so it could easily be taken out. Small details like these matter.

The hotel looks nice, and I expected to enjoy my stay. But as an English speaker, communicating with the staff was difficult. I had no SIM card or translator app, and I didn’t get internet until the next day. Even then, it wouldn’t work in my room on level 6. The spa was closed the whole time.
