Palace Hotel

The location is great, and the staff are very kind and helpful. They probably can't help that the owner doesn't want to invest in improvements. Those are the reasons I'm giving two stars. Otherwise, I'd give it zero. The building feels 200 years out of date: cold shower, windows that won't close, dirty bedding, mold, and old furniture. There's no reason for it to be stuck in time like this. I hope they improve things. The hotel has a history, and it could keep an old-fashioned theme while still being better cared for.

The hotel was in very poor condition and had awful hygiene. We left our vehicle parked in front, and when we came back, our truck had been broken into. Items were stolen from inside, and the vehicle was damaged.

We asked if there was parking and got a yes. When we arrived, they shamelessly admitted they lie about it. There is no parking, and there's zero transparency. The staff were rude, as if our staying there was disrupting their routine. The room felt like an experiment in testing human limits: dirty, with dirty bedding, a rotten curtain, and a broken toilet and bed. Every time the bed moved, I wondered if it was about to collapse. We tried not to turn on the fan because we could already guess how clean it was, but the mosquitoes were partying by our ears, so we switched it on. One fan didn't work. The other sort of worked, but had just one setting, hellishly hot air with a wind strong enough to strip your skin. It didn't cool or ventilate, just assaulted you. We had a terrible night, total discomfort, no rest, and an almost surreal experience. Honestly, don't come here, not out of curiosity, desperation, or even if they offer it for free.

The worst place in the world, simply deplorable. Everything was dirty, rotten, old, and unhygienic. It was expensive and neglected, the staff were rude and dirty, and the facilities were awful. It was simply a dump. I was supposed to stay for two nights, but left after two hours and still paid 112.00 reais.
