Klein Ville Light

Just average.

Breakfast was excellent, and for the price it was still worth it. The bed in room 107 had a dip in it, though, and I couldn’t get the shower water hot enough. Other guests said their showers were fine.

I never want to set foot here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The room was filthy, smelled awful, and looked more like a prison cell. Housekeeping was terrible, the bathroom was full of insects, and I took photos of the dirt. The mini fridge was right in front of the bathroom door, so you had to step over its power cord to get in. It felt like a bad joke. The one thing that made the stay a little less awful was receptionist Carol, who was kind and tried every way she could to move us to another room, but it wasn’t possible. The management knew about the problems.

The regret started as soon as we reached reception. The place was dirty, dusty, and smelled bad. They also claimed to have parking through an agreement, but the lot was three blocks away and wasn’t actually part of any deal, so we had to pay its regular rate. Walking there at night felt risky, as did waiting outside the hotel for someone to open the door. There’s no electronic lock. Check-in was at 2 p.m., but they didn’t let us into the room until 4:30. The rushed cleaning left a strong chemical smell, dingy towels, and blankets that looked like they hadn’t been washed in months. Luckily, we’d brought towels and pillowcases from home. The town was small and its hotels were full because of a major event, so we couldn’t switch places, though we wanted to leave immediately. Taking care of a place costs little, but losing customers does.
