Pousada Céu da Mantiqueira

The view is stunning, and the setting makes it easy to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. The rooms are nicely decorated, the beds are comfortable, and the staff were amazing. It felt like a hidden gem. I hope I can come back soon.

I came here after hiking to Pedra do Cume, leaving my car at the hostel before setting off along the Serra do Lopo trail. The hike took me from 10:30 am until 1 pm, and by the time I got back I was starving. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana with salad at the restaurant and loved it, I ate the whole thing. The staff were friendly and helpful, and one of them gave me useful details about the road into the area when we chatted. It’s a pleasant place, and I’d definitely recommend it for a meal. I can’t speak from experience about staying overnight, though I’d guess the accommodations are just as good.

We felt so welcome here. The staff are kind, and the pousada is a comfortable base for the trails at Serra do Lopo. Our room was cozy, with a great bed and the hot shower I like. The view is incredible, too. We were lucky to find a vacancy and hope we can return many more times. 😍

The trail itself was beautiful and in good shape, and reaching Pico do Lopo was worth it. I’d call the difficulty on the easy side of moderate. But I came only to hike, and we were charged R$25.00 per person at the entrance, with day use offered as an option. Even with that, the price didn’t feel worthwhile: the restaurant was expensive, the pool wasn’t worth the cost, and there wasn’t even a water fountain. They told me to get water from the bathroom tap. For me, the place just wasn’t worth the price.
