D. Lucineide is very attentive and makes delicious black coffee. She also shares tips on spending less and getting more out of your stay. Flat do Índio is really well placed: about 200 m from the bakery, 250 m from the courthouse, Noronhão supermarket, Military Police, and Bradesco bank, and 80 m from a public weight-training gym. The bus stop is only 100 m away, so everything is close. It was well worth it, and we know where we’ll stay when we come back: Flat do Índio.

It’s in Vila dos Trinta, one of the island’s most popular and affordable areas to stay. There are two of the island’s best supermarkets nearby, along with a restaurant serving excellent food at the lowest price on the island and drink shops. The facilities are modest and basic, but the service is friendly. The downside is the thin drywall walls, which mean little privacy.

I’ve just got back from Fernando de Noronha, where I stayed at Flat do Índio. I don’t recommend it. The room was awful, there was no breakfast, and there was nobody around to help us. I only saw one person on the day I arrived and the day I left. A terrible place to stay.
