Pousada Agulhão - LN

The location is excellent, and the rooms have air conditioning, a great shower, and a minibar that works well. The pousada is basic but delivers what it promises. Breakfast was decent, though exactly the same items were served every day, with no additions. What stood out most was how unfriendly D. Maria, the owner, was. She didn’t make an effort to be cordial, complained about everything, and wouldn’t let guests use the pool after 6 pm, just when we were returning from outings and wanted to relax. She also kept close tabs on the kitchen utensils, like the bottle opener, knives, cups, and bowls, even though we said we’d wash and put them away. The place had its appeal, but the owner’s lack of interaction and effort to be pleasant took away from it.

This is a homelike pousada with a very simple breakfast, but it’s cozy and affordable. The location is especially convenient, with Xica da Silva Restaurante right on the corner. The owner’s warm manner makes the place feel welcoming, and it’s good value for anyone looking for comfort and practicality during a stay.

It’s a friendly, family run pousada. Dona Maria was very attentive, and the simple breakfast was made with care. The room and bathroom were clean, with air conditioning and a minibar. It’s well located near a small market, Xica da Silva restaurant, and the way into the town center. I’d recommend it.

A quiet place to stay, and easy to reach from the center. The pool had been closed after heavy rain in the preceding days, although my sister in law did manage to use it one day. Breakfast was good quality considering the island’s conditions. The Wi-Fi only worked outside the rooms, in the dining area.
