The owners are super nice, the facilities are great, and the view of Lagoa de Conceicao is awesome. There’s even a local group of three monkeys that drops by for a banana now and then. I stayed here in November and December last year, after eight months traveling around South America, and it’s the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The house used to be where Kelly Slater stayed when he came to surf in Florianopolis. It belongs to ex-pro surfer Teco Padaratz, who’s well known in the state. Seriously, this place is amazing.

The only downsides were the lack of an ATM and the steep access road, though that won’t put off anyone who enjoys the scenery, the welcoming atmosphere, and feeling close to nature in an urban area. Nearby shops and beaches are another plus. I felt welcomed here. The owners are attentive, polite, and helpful, and the hostel is beautiful, clean, and harmonious. The landscapes around it are gorgeous.

The common area feels welcoming and lovely, with a real Floripa feel, and being surrounded by nature was energizing. It’s close to Lagoa and the island’s most beautiful beaches, so I’ll definitely be back. The staff were a highlight: attentive and communicative, always ready with tips, and they made guests feel at ease. Breakfast was delicious, the rooms were tidy, and the clean sheets and comfortable pillows and mattress made for a pleasant stay. ❤

It’s a wonderful hostel with people from all over the world, perfect for meeting others and making friends. My only problem was getting there because the hill is very steep.

A wonderful, cozy place with good food and excellent service. Summer’s coming, so come enjoy the natural beauty and stunning view of Lagoa da Conceição.
