Caravaggio Praia Hotel Canasvieiras

Looks like a new building, and it works well as a place to stay near canasvieiras beach. Just keep in mind it's quite far from central Florianópolis. The hotel has three floors and no elevator.

I felt safe and comfortable here, and there’s a small supermarket close by. It’s a good place to stay, with the beach and Canasvieiras' town center nearby. Breakfast is included, which is a plus since most inns don't offer it. The breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. Towels were changed daily, and the housekeepers were attentive and careful. If I remember correctly, the sheets were changed every three days. The hotel has a ground floor plus a first and second floor, with no elevator, but that didn't bother me. In my room, the bathroom sink faucet only ran for a second after I turned it on, so it was badly faulty. Since my room had a small kitchenette, we used its sink for everything. The shower had a curtain instead of glass, which I found unhygienic. The kitchenette had a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and cupboards, but no basic supplies like a sponge, dish towel, or detergent. I bought those to make the stay easier, and would suggest the hotel provide them. There were only three hangers in the room and two hooks for towels in the bathroom, which made things a little difficult. That's another suggestion for improving guests' stays. The pool was cloudy for four out of my five days, so we couldn't use it. I didn't see any guests using it, maybe that's why. The air conditioner was quite noisy, though it didn't bother me. The hotel provides one pillow per guest, but you can ask for more. There aren't other meals at the hotel, but you can order delivery and collect it at reception.

We paid 732.42 reais for one night and checked in at 3:00 PM because they said the room needed cleaning. The attached photos show what we found: it was very dirty, poorly maintained, and in awful condition, nothing like what you'd expect for a 733 reais room. The website doesn't show rooms in that state, so we felt ripped off and cheated. We'll never return or recommend the place. The staff were friendly, but that doesn't make the price reasonable for a room like this. The pool was awful too, with cloudy water that I wouldn't recommend swimming in.
