Costa Solar Lagoa

The place was really cozy and cute, with great value, private parking, and a 10/10 setup. The location is excellent, and the staff were great and easy to reach. My only suggestions, if possible, would be to add a microwave to the kitchen, put up a curtain that blocks more of the morning sun, and improve the bedroom lighting.

The inn feels new, the service was impeccable, and the price was fair. Every day they leave delicious complimentary cakes and cookies at reception, which is a lovely extra. I’d suggest adding a microwave and more kitchen utensils, and improving the lighting in the room bathrooms.

The phone number listed for the inn on Booking didn’t answer, so I found another number through Street View on Maps. I found it difficult to get in touch, and thought both sides behaved unethically by passing responsibility back and forth. I don’t recommend it because reaching them is difficult. I’d booked a week through Booking, but had to cancel because of unforeseen circumstances. Even with 15 days’ notice, I couldn’t cancel without a fee. Booking sent me to the inn to negotiate a free cancellation. The inn said it couldn’t cancel because Booking would fine it, though Booking clarified that this wasn’t its policy. I ended up out of pocket, and the inn didn’t offer a clear explanation. To clarify the inn’s response to my review below, neither Booking nor the inn ever asked me for documentation. It was easier to get a response here than through the inn’s official channels, and during our conversations the inn never clearly addressed my cancellation request.

We stayed for three days as a family, a couple with a child. The view of Lagoa da Conceição is beautiful, the area feels safe and peaceful, and it’s easy to get to several beaches. There’s private parking, and reception always had complimentary coffee, cake, and snacks. We were treated very well, and all the facilities were new and really attractive. Since I made breakfast each day, I missed having a microwave. There was no milk pan to heat milk on the stove. I also wished there were a drying rack for our wet beach clothes. Still, neither issue spoiled our stay.
