Encanto da Barra

Highly recommended. The location is prime, and the people are just as good.

Celi, who greets you, is charming and always available, and the kitchen is well equipped. The accommodation is beautiful and clean, with a fantastic ocean view. It’s across the bridge from the center of Barra de Lagoa, just two blocks away on foot. That makes it convenient while still being much quieter.

The Pousada is in a family-friendly spot, spotless and quiet, right beside the little center with good restaurants. I recommend Maria & Maria in the center of Barra da Lagoa for its wonderful seafood seasoning. The place is a dream if you love nature and want to visit a lovely fishing village. There are fruit trees, a perfect lawn, and a breathtaking sea view. Mr. Manuel and Dona Celi, the owners, keep everything in lovely condition and clearly care for it. The view is...paradisiacal. Prainha, about 2 minutes from the Pousada, won us over with its clear blue water, ideal for swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, spearfishing, and snorkeling. The new trail, opened in 2017, leading to the natural pools is another great outdoor outing. There are several nearby fishing spots, either in the Barra da Lagoa Channel or at Praia de Moçambique, which is an extension of Barra da Lagoa beach. Projeto Tamar is 15 minutes away and worth visiting. There’s also Reserva do Rio Vermelho, with a mini zoo featuring regional species, and the wonderful Praia de Moçambique, where you can hike and quietly listen to hundreds of birds singing, including yellow canaries and blue jays. You can also take boat trips to Ilha do Campeche and Costa da Lagoa during your stay. It’s an incredibly enjoyable outing, and the views of the cliffs at Praia da Galheta and Mole are priceless.

I called to ask for information and the person was incredibly rude, answering, “Hello, what do you want?” I said that if this was a pousada, of course I wanted information about accommodation. Lol.
