It's a wonderful place. You can see whales fairly easily, and the little beach bars are good. Museu da Fortaleza is beautiful too. Parking is tricky, but the walk makes it worthwhile.

The place sits at the top of a hill, so think about that if you’ll be going out often, the uphill trips can really wear you down. There were some other problems too: the cupboards and pots are very old and not maintained. When we first entered the house, it smelled like cat, as if nobody had been there for days. They had promised a sofa bed, but it still wasn't ready on our final day, after seven days staying there.

The view of Barra da Lagoa is one of a kind. There’s a terrace where you can barbecue and relax with friends, or with a lovely woman from Santa Catarina! A fantastic place.

It’s at the very end of the street, which means a steep climb, but the place itself is cozy and pleasant.
