The place is literally falling apart. My mother-in-law nearly got seriously hurt when the handrail came loose and she fell. There’s also mold on the curtains and wooden furniture, the ceiling is covered in bumps from water coming through the deck, and there are lots of cockroaches. They put vinyl flooring in an open area, so rain soaks it and the warped boards are a tripping hazard. Water leaks down from the upper floor, both from the sink, where it backs up and runs down, and from the deck, which doesn’t drain enough. Both access gates caused problems, the one to the beach and the upper gate for cars. The stay was awful, and the new owners act in bad faith, especially when you book directly instead of through the platform. They don’t refund you. Through Airbnb they charge extra to process a refund, and it isn’t worth it. Paola and Renato also provide poor service and don’t seem concerned about guests’ experience.

I stayed at Pousada da vigia last weekend, 09/05 to 12/05/24. There were beds for only nine, even though I’d booked for 11 people, and I had to ask for towels. They didn’t restock toilet paper in the shared bathrooms. The inn was dirty and the service was terrible. The pool was dirty too, and the hot tub was filthy. They don’t change the water between guests. Henrique was the exception, the only attentive and friendly staff member. It wasn’t worth the price.
