Pousada Recanto Solar da Barra

Silvio, the manager, is a genius and always available to help with anything that comes up. Everything works well, including the Wi-Fi, air conditioning, pool, indoor parking, two bathrooms and refrigerator. It's very good value for money. The place has everything needed for a vacation. We would've preferred bunk beds for the kids instead of a bunk bed, since it takes up space in the dining room, and the furniture feels a bit old-fashioned.

The room smelled unpleasant, so we decided not to stay after arriving. They said they would cancel the booking without a charge, but once we had left, a WhatsApp message came demanding a cancellation fee. Service was very poor. I wouldn't recommend going there.

We spent eight days there and were well looked after. The owner was always ready to help, and the place was quiet. The furnished apartments were tidy, and the property was clean and easy to find, with shops nearby. Barra beach is about a kilometer away. They also rent by the month outside the season. I recommend it.

The area is lovely, with the beach very close, a lake nearby, and bakeries and shops on the same block. There are supermarkets and a beautiful river in the area too. The location gets 4/5 from me. The apartments, though, look nothing like the photos and aren't nearly as nice as pictured. Apartment 2/5.
