Pousada Santa Genoveva

Rogeria and Clodoaldo were considerate, attentive hosts. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the landscaping and garden outside are beautiful. I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to stay too close to the beach in Campeche.

We had no water on our first night, and when the owner said it would be fixed by morning, there still wasn't any. That evening we ran out of toilet paper and spent about 40 minutes trying to find the owner, with nobody there to help. When we said water and toilet paper were basic things to provide, they argued that we were being disrespectful. The owner later became aggressive when we said that, after paying for a night, we at least needed water to flush the toilet or brush our teeth. They don't clean the rooms, so there were no fresh towels, sheets, or soap. The hotel lacks basic facilities, and it's in the middle of nowhere, where Uber drivers don't seem keen to pick people up. The owners don't speak even a little English. I feel that learning a small amount would show respect to foreign guests. They earn their money but don't do anything for their guests. Don't book this hotel.

It was okay.

The room was clean and organized, with plenty of space. It was practically a little house, with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and laundry area. The pousada is well placed near the roads leading out of town, as well as the center and beach. The owners were attentive and helpful, and welcomed us warmly. We'll definitely come back.
