I’ve stayed in hostels and simpler inns before, but never anywhere as dirty or poorly maintained as Pousada Suites do Santinho. During my stay over Carnival 2026, cockroaches and other insects showed up. The rooms smelled musty, the towels were old and smelly, and the facilities were in poor shape. The old air conditioner was noisy, the mattresses were uncomfortable, and barely any water came from the shower. Breakfast was brought to the room and was very basic: coffee, milk, powdered juice, sliced bread, and cookies. There was no daily room cleaning unless we asked, and even then it was difficult to get done. I chose this place after looking at reviews, so I wonder where all the praise from other guests comes from, because I didn’t see it during my stay. I didn’t like it, I won’t return, and I can’t recommend it.

It’s a lovely, comfortable place, and the service was excellent. Even though it isn’t on a main street, getting there is easy, and there are shops nearby.

We got a very nice welcome. The place was clean and comfortable, and it was quiet too.
