Residencial Vila Sassari

The neighborhood was quiet, and the owner let me check in an hour early and stay two hours past checkout. Those were the bright spots. The apartment itself was deeply uncomfortable. The mattress was old and I could feel every wooden slat, so I woke up stiff all over. There was no closet or bedside table, just a plastic shelf for clothes. The shower swung between ice cold and scalding, with nothing in between, and the bathroom smelled of sewage. The kettle had bugs in it when I arrived. The refrigerator wasn't the one shown in the photo, sat unevenly, and shook whenever I opened it. There was hair inside, and the dishes and utensils were dirty. I also had to ask for detergent, rags, and a broom before those were provided. For such poor upkeep, it was very expensive. I wouldn't stay here again; the place was anything but comfortable.

The apartment had the things we needed to feel at home, including a washing machine and iron in the laundry area, plus Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and secure entry. We spent seven days here with my family and would come back whenever we're in Canasvieiras. The location is a big part of why: it's a block and a half from the beach and three blocks from the town center shops, with a peaceful feel for relaxing. Massimo and his wife were kind and answered all my questions. They even let us leave our luggage five hours before check-in. I'd highly recommend it.

The location and the owners' kindness were the only good parts. We rented apartments 7 and 8 on the ground floor for three days in January 2020, thankfully only three. For the price, I expected much more, and these places didn't match either the listing or what we paid. They felt neglected, messy, and poorly cleaned. There were broken furnishings, missing drawers and doors, drawers that wouldn't fit, not enough plates or cooking utensils, just one kettle per apartment, and no breakfast cups or bedside tables. Corners were dirty with cobwebs, and there were dead insects on the door number. One apartment smelled strongly of cigarettes. The towels were old and the sheets stained, so we had to ask for replacements. Both bathrooms had a strong sewage odor, and the showers had very little water. The kitchen gas bottle was in the way in one apartment. Some outlets had no covers, especially one beside the main bed's headboard. Its screw could hit you on the head if you weren't careful. I'm sorry to leave such a low rating, but the two apartments fell well short.

Ibaña is a lovely, charming inn, and she was very attentive to what guests needed.
